In September 2022, themodel machine ofLHSIR800/150 nuclear two-stage low-pressure safe injection pump independently developed by Kaiquan for the "Tianwan Units 7 and 8 and Xutabu Units 3 and 4" nuclear power orders, with the guidance and help of acceptance experts, completed a number of tests such as performance, cavitation, and operation, and successfully passed acceptance.
The low-pressure safe injection pump belongs to the nuclear safety secondary pump equipment. It is an important part of the safe injection system by injecting boron-containing water into the main coolant loop to promote core cooling and ensure the safe operation of the nuclear power unit during the emergency operation of the nuclear power unit and the cooling of the reactor core under the design reference accident and earthquake conditions.
In 2020, Kaiquan and CNNC Suneng Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. and CNNC Liaoning Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. signed nuclear power orders worth 200 millionRMByuan of "Tianwan 7, 8 units and Xudapu 3, 4 units", will build 16 LHSIR800/150 nuclear two-stage low pressure safe injection pumps, for thesafeinjectionsystem for the nuclearpowerunitofRussian VVERmillion Kilowattpressurizedwaterreactor. Before this, Chinese low-pressure safe injection pump manufacturing technology has been monopolized by European, American and Japanese pump industry giants, and Tianwan 1 to 4 equipment are supplied by foreign countries.
In order to reduce enterprise procurement costs and break the awkward situation where key equipment technology of nuclear pumps are subject toothers, Kaiquan took the lead in organizing professionals from departments such as technology, mechanics, materials, and process to overcome numerous difficulties such as high flow and anti-cavitation performance, wide operating range andcurve steep descent requirements, and reasonable calculation and optimization of axial force balance mechanism. Finally, in 2021, it successfully developed amodel machine ofVVER reactor type nuclear two-stage low-pressure safe injection pump.
This equipment mainly consists of pumps, motors, cooling, flushing and other accessories. Horizontal pump, with both inlet and outlet facing vertically upwards.

Inlet pressure: 0.08MPa~2.15MPa,
Design temperature: 20℃~150℃,
Design pressure: 5.5MPa.
For the development of this pump, Kaiquan has fully independent intellectual property rights, and its key technologies and related patents can also be applied to the development of horizontal double-casing multi-stage centrifugal pumps with similar structures. At the same time, compared to the commonly used imported equipment on VVER units at present, the internal structure of the pump is also more concise, easy to install, maintain, and repair. In addition, the overall size and rigidity have also been optimized, making the equipment more stable and reliable.
