Recently, the groundbreaking ceremony for the modernization renovation (coal to gas) project of Dongfang Lingri Boiler Co., Ltd.'s Almaty No.2 Thermal Power Station in Kazakhstan was successfully held at Kaiquan Shanghai Industrial Park. Vice President of Kaiquan, Wang Jian, General Manager of Energy Engineering Department, Wang Dongjin, and relevant personnel from Dongfang Electric attended the ceremony together.

Project Background

China and Kazakhstan have achieved fruitful results in the field of economic and trade cooperation. In May 2023, an exciting news came that a Chinese consortium had successfully won the bid for the largest thermal power plant renovation project in Kazakhstan - Almaty No.2 Thermal Power Station. The installed capacity of the power station is 510 megawatts. After the renovation is completed, it will greatly promote the development of clean energy in Kazakhstan, improve the local ecological environment, and transform the economic structure.

Winning the bid with strength

With its persistent pursuit of technology and strict control over quality, Kaiquan stands out among a group of brands and successfully won the bid for the "Dongfang Lingri Boiler Co., Ltd. Kazakhstan Almaty No.2 Thermal Power Station Modernization (Coal to Gas) Project" in May 2024.

The BB2 type high temperature and high pressure pump involved in this project, as the core equipment of the boiler system, its performance stability and reliability are related to the safe operation of the entire power plant.

In addition to the power industry, this equipment can also be widely used in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, etc., such as phenol acetone plants, ethylene plants, synthetic ammonia plants, solar energy main heat transportation, refinery loading, boiler feedwater boosting, nuclear power, diesel engine transportation, and many other fields.

It is worth mentioning that Kaiquan's technical strength and innovation ability in the field of pump equipment have long been widely recognized by the industry. In 2022, Kaiquan successfully completed the delivery of the million kilowatt nuclear power main feedwater pump unit project for the "Guohe No.1" national nuclear demonstration project, marking the first localization of the CAP1400/CAP100 series main feedwater pump for this project.
